urTrax welcomes music however it is made: by people, by AI, or by the two together. This policy explains what is allowed, how releases are declared, how AI music is labeled, and where we stand.
AI music is allowed
Fully AI-generated music and human + AI hybrid music may be added to urTrax. We do not reject a release because of the tools used to make it.
What we require is honesty about how it was made. Every release carries its origin openly, and the community takes it from there.
Artists and listeners decide
Whether AI music deserves an audience is not our call to make. It is up to each artist and each listener to decide whether to support it, listen to it, buy it, download it, or stream it for free. urTrax gives everyone the information to make that choice; we do not make it for you.
Where we stand
Our position is simple: the best music will always be 100% human-made. urTrax was founded by a musician and songwriter, and this is a personal stance as much as a company one. AI can be a capable instrument, but the songs that stay with people come from people: their stories, their craft, and their imperfections.
Allowing AI music and believing in human music are not in conflict. We would rather label honestly and let listeners choose than pretend the technology does not exist.
Declarations when adding music
Every release added to urTrax includes a declaration of how the music was made:
- 100% human-made: written, performed, and produced by people;
- human + AI hybrid: people and AI tools both contributed to the writing, performance, or production; or
- fully AI-generated: the music was generated by AI.
Detection and labeling
Declarations are not the only safeguard. urTrax has detection technology in place that analyzes music for signs of AI generation. When a track is detected to be fully AI-generated or a human + AI hybrid, we label it accordingly on track listings, on album detail pages, and on artist detail pages, even when it was declared otherwise.
Labels exist so listeners always know what they are hearing. A release that is misdeclared as human-made and detected as AI carries the corrected label, and knowingly false declarations may be treated as materially deceptive metadata under our Acceptable Use Policy.
